What for you means KK Buducnost?
Special emotion hardly described with words - planted deep inside since my childhood, consider that we are as a family involved with the club. Meeting up with friends and our visits to Arena Moraca on our specific seats behind the bench of Buducnost dates back years ago, but it is always new experience for me. As a child of this city, as someone how was witness to the most of historical games of Basketball club Buducnost and someone who is risen very near Arena Moraca, certainly in some special way I feel that I am myself part of the club history.
Do you think that basketball has returned to our city?
I think that we are only at the beginning of this bumpy road but we are heading into a good direction. I hope the crowd will be there with our blue team, no matter who is the opponent – therefor with the same passion in Euroleague competition as in national championship. When that happens, then we will be able to say that our mission to return basketball to our city is absolutely completed.
How do you remember KK Buducnost from your childhood?
Yellow chairs u Arena Moraca, crowded stands, unbelievable noise, heat and slippery green parquet!
Cult games, the derby with Partizan, also two won Cups in Niksic town to whom I attended. I remember years when Buducnost comes out of the box and becomes a great club, known and respected through Europe.
How are players who left the biggest impact in BC Buducnost?
Someone more, someone less, but certainly some of most known names through history are:
Žarko Knežević, Jadran Vujačić, Duško i Dragan Ivanović, Nikola Antić, Goran Poli Bojanić, Žarko Paspalj, Luka Pavićević, Vlado Šćepanović, Gavrilo Pajović, Dragan Vukčević, Saša Ivanović, Dejan Milojević, Igor Rakočević, Vladimir Kuzmanović, Dejan Tomašević, Nikola Bulatović, Milenko Topić, Haris Brkić, Dejan Radonjić, Saša Pavlović, Nikola Ivanović, Nemanja Gordić.
Assemble perfect 5 players team in the last 25 years?
Gavrilo Pajovic- Vlado Scepanovic, Igor Rakocevic- Dejan Milojevic- Dejan Tomasevic.
BC Buducnost is now champion of ABA league, how you experienced winning of the title?
Very emotional. Those days our city lived for basketball, for our club, for our city, that feeling is something that fulfilled me. When you see kids with faces painted in blue and their granddads with blue scarfs around the neck, walking to Arena Moraca two hours before game starts – than you know how much this title means and how its such a big deal. Atmosphere in Arena Moraca through out semifinals with Cedevita and finals agains Crvena Zvezda is something that will be remembered and talked about in the genarations to come.
This year our club plays in Euroleague competition, what do you expect?
We built up a strong team, competitive. I believe head couch Aleksandar Dzikic and his associates will do the right job on making plans for improving the game and scores. I would not predict the number of won games in this competition with the best quality, but what is the most important is for our team to show that we are with all rights part of this elite. The team should have the precise attention to stay in this competition longer than just this season.
Message before Euroleague?
For players – as last year you should be aware whose AMBLEM you have on your chest. That relation for all Buducnost fans is far more important than any possible score.
For fans – Let Arena Moraca be full, atmosphere heated as hell, but in sports manners. Respect of opponent, but all for winning of our loved club, let our Arena be unobtrusive, invincible fortress even for the strongest European clubs.
